Stuffed Cabbage Cake

Stuffed cabbage cake is a delicious and hearty meal that's perfect for any occasion. Here's a recipe to make it at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 can (14 oz.) diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Carefully add the whole head of cabbage and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the outer leaves are pliable enough to remove without tearing. Remove the cabbage from the water and set aside to cool.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic and cook until the onion is translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks.
  5. Stir in the cooked rice, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and water.
  7. Grease a 9-inch springform pan with cooking spray or oil.
  8. Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and layer them in the bottom of the pan, overlapping as needed.
  9. Spread a layer of the meat and rice mixture over the cabbage leaves.
  10. Spoon some of the tomato sauce over the meat mixture.
  11. Repeat the layering process, using up all of the meat and rice mixture and the tomato sauce. Finish with a layer of cabbage leaves on top.
  12. Cover the pan with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  13. After an hour, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is browned and crispy.
  14. Remove the pan from the oven and let the cabbage cake cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
