Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.
- Add the warm water and vegetable oil to the bowl and mix with a wooden spoon until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Grease a large loaf pan with some oil or butter.
- Place the dough into the pan and press it down to fill the corners and evenly distribute the dough.
- Cover the pan with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat a stovetop skillet or griddle to medium-low heat.
- Once the dough has risen, place the pan on the skillet or griddle.
- Cover the pan with a lid or aluminum foil and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the bottom of the bread is golden brown.
- Using oven mitts, carefully flip the pan over and continue cooking the bread for another 10-15 minutes, or until the other side is golden brown.
- Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
