Glazed carrots are a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that can complement any meal. Here is a recipe for making glazed carrots:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. fresh carrots, peeled and sliced into rounds or sticks
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the sliced carrots to the skillet and toss to coat with the butter.
- Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to the skillet and stir to combine with the carrots.
- Pour the water into the skillet and stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and cover the skillet with a lid.
- Simmer the carrots for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
- Remove the lid and continue to cook the carrots, stirring occasionally, until the liquid has been completely absorbed and the carrots are coated in a thick, sticky glaze.
