Naga Chicken Tikka Curry

Naga Chicken Tikka Curry is a spicy and flavorful Indian curry that is perfect for those who love bold and intense flavors. Here is a recipe you can try:

Ingredients:

  • 500g chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons Naga chilli paste (adjust according to your spice preference)
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, Naga chilli paste, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and coat them with the marinade. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C). Thread the chicken pieces onto skewers and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  4. In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they are soft and translucent.
  5. Add the tomato puree and water to the pan and stir well. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  6. Add the cooked chicken pieces to the pan and stir well. Let the curry simmer for 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan bread.

Note: Naga chilli paste is a very hot spice, so adjust the amount according to your personal spice tolerance. If you can't find Naga chilli paste, you can substitute it with other hot chilli paste.
