Pickle Bread

Pickle Bread

Pickle bread is a type of bread that is flavored with dill pickles. It may sound unusual, but it's actually a tasty and savory bread that can be enjoyed on its own or used as a base for sandwiches.

To make pickle bread, you will need:

  • 1 cup chopped dill pickles
  • 1/2 cup pickle juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup warm milk

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped pickles, pickle juice, melted butter, sugar, salt, dill weed, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix well.
  2. Add the bread flour and instant yeast to the bowl. Mix until the ingredients are well combined.
  3. Add the warm water and warm milk to the bowl. Mix until the dough comes together in a ball.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a damp towel. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf in a greased bread pan.
  8. Bake the bread for 35-40 minutes, or until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before removing it from the pan and placing it on a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Slice the bread and serve it as desired.

Note: This recipe makes a single loaf of pickle bread. If you want to make multiple loaves, simply double or triple the recipe as needed.
