Spicy Raw Crab

Spicy Raw Crab

Spicy raw crab is a dish that is popular in some parts of the world, particularly in Korea. It typically involves using raw crab meat, marinating it in a spicy sauce, and serving it cold.

To make spicy raw crab, you will need:

  • 1-2 fresh crabs
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Clean the crabs thoroughly, removing any shells or debris.
  2. Using a sharp knife, carefully crack the shells and remove the meat from the crabs.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the gochujang, rice vinegar, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Mix well to create a smooth sauce.
  4. Add the crab meat to the sauce and toss gently to coat.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Before serving, garnish with sliced green onion and toasted sesame seeds.

Note: It is important to use fresh, high-quality crab for this dish. Additionally, consuming raw seafood carries a risk of foodborne illness, so be sure to handle and prepare the crab properly and consume it at your own risk.
