Salt and Pepper Tofu

Salt and pepper tofu is a delicious vegetarian dish that's easy to make and packed with flavor. Here's a recipe to try:

Ingredients:

- 1 block of firm tofu (14 oz.)

- 2 tablespoons cornstarch

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

- Vegetable oil for frying

- Green onions and cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes and pat dry with paper towels.

2. In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

3. Toss the tofu cubes in the cornstarch mixture until evenly coated.

4. Heat a few tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

5. Once the oil is hot, add the tofu cubes to the skillet in a single layer.

6. Cook the tofu for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

7. Remove the tofu from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to remove any excess oil.

8. Serve the salt and pepper tofu hot, garnished with chopped green onions and cilantro, if desired.

This dish is perfect for a vegetarian main course or as a side dish to accompany other dishes. The crispy tofu is seasoned with a simple blend of salt, pepper, garlic, and onion, making it a flavorful and satisfying meal.
