Fried sage is a simple and delicious appetizer or snack that's easy to make at home. Here's a quick recipe:
Ingredients:
- Fresh sage leaves
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Pour the milk into a separate bowl.
- Dip each sage leaf into the milk, then coat it in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully place a few sage leaves into the oil and fry for 1-2 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown.
- Remove the sage leaves from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
- Repeat with the remaining sage leaves until all are fried.
- Serve the fried sage leaves hot as an appetizer or snack. You can also sprinkle some salt or other seasonings of your choice on top if desired.
