These Crispy Chicken Sandwiches are perfect for lunch or dinner. The combination of the crispy chicken, fresh toppings, and condiments creates a delicious and satisfying meal. Here's a recipe for a delicious Crispy Chicken Sandwich:
Ingredients:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced pickles
- Mayonnaise
- Mustard
Instructions:
- Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness using a meat mallet or rolling pin.
- In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour the buttermilk into another shallow dish.
- Dip each chicken breast into the flour mixture, coating both sides. Shake off any excess flour.
- Dip the coated chicken into the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Coat the chicken again in the flour mixture, pressing the flour mixture firmly onto the chicken to ensure a crispy coating.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to a temperature of 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place the breaded chicken breasts into the hot oil and fry for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Make sure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Toast the hamburger buns lightly if desired.
- Assemble the sandwiches by spreading mayonnaise and mustard on the bottom bun. Add a lettuce leaf, a chicken breast, sliced tomatoes, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve the Crispy Chicken Sandwiches immediately and enjoy!
