Unusually Delicious Mochi Grilled Cheese
This recipe will teach you how to make a unique and delicious grilled cheese sandwich using mochi instead of bread.
Ingredients:
- 4 slices of mochi
- 2 slices of cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Optional: sliced ham or turkey, sliced tomato, or other sandwich fillings of your choice
Instructions:
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- Place the mochi slices in the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, until they are lightly browned and slightly puffed up.
- Remove the mochi slices from the skillet and set them aside.
- Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of two of the mochi slices.
- If desired, add any additional fillings to the sandwiches.
- Place the remaining mochi slices on top of the fillings to create two sandwiches.
- Melt the butter in the skillet over medium heat.
- Once the butter is melted and bubbling, add the sandwiches to the skillet.
- Cook the sandwiches for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the cheese is melted and the mochi is slightly crispy and golden brown.
- Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and serve hot.
