Flavorful Hawaiian Macaroni Salad

This traditional Hawaiian macaroni salad is a must-have for your next barbecue or potluck! Creamy, tangy, and packed with flavor, this easy-to-make salad is the perfect side dish for any occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb elbow macaroni
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley

Instructions:

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Drain the macaroni and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Drain well and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the cooked macaroni to the bowl and toss to coat with the dressing.
  5. Add the sliced green onions and chopped parsley to the bowl and toss to combine.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight to allow the flavors to meld together.
  7. When ready to serve, give the salad a quick toss to redistribute the dressing and garnish with additional sliced green onions and chopped parsley if desired.
