The Best Cupcakes

Angel food cupcakes taste just like the cake, but they bake in half the time! My recipe includes a homemade whipped cream for topping. They taste great plain too!

Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup powdered sugar (80g)
  • ½ cup cake flour (55g)
  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¾ cups egg whites (typically 5-6 egg whites) (175ml)
  • ¾ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ¾ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅛ teaspoon almond extract (optional)
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (100g)

Whipped Cream Topping

  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (60g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
