Salted Caramel Apple Galette
Ingredients list:
Dough for the Galette
- 160g plain flour, plus more for dusting
- 1tbsp sugar
- Pinch salt
- 110g unsalted butter, cubed and chilled
- 1tbsp apple cider vinegar (optional, use more water if not)
- 60ml cold water
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2tbsp demerara sugar, for sprinkling on top
Salted Caramel Sauce
- 100g sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt, plus more to taste as it cools
- 1tbsp butter
- 120ml double cream, plus an extra drizzle for serving
Apple Pie Filling
- 700g granny smith apples (approx 6) – Cored, peeled and sliced
- 1tbsp lemon juice
- Zest of half a lemon (optional)
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 70g sugar
- 1tbsp butter
