Best Baked Pear

Baked pears are a delicious and comforting dessert option. They become tender and juicy when baked, and their natural sweetness intensifies.

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe pears (such as Bosc or Anjou)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional, for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the pears in half lengthwise. Use a spoon or melon baller to remove the cores and create a hollow space in each pear half. Place the pears cut-side up in a baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, chopped nuts, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
  4. Spoon the sugar and nut mixture evenly into the hollowed-out centers of the pear halves.
  5. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the topping is golden brown and caramelized.
  6. Remove the baked pears from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
  7. You can serve the baked pears on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top for extra indulgence.
