Best Baked Pear
Baked pears are a delicious and comforting dessert option. They become tender and juicy when baked, and their natural sweetness intensifies.
Ingredients:
- 4 ripe pears (such as Bosc or Anjou)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the pears in half lengthwise. Use a spoon or melon baller to remove the cores and create a hollow space in each pear half. Place the pears cut-side up in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, chopped nuts, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
- Spoon the sugar and nut mixture evenly into the hollowed-out centers of the pear halves.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the topping is golden brown and caramelized.
- Remove the baked pears from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
- You can serve the baked pears on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top for extra indulgence.
Enjoy your delicious baked pears!
