Glazed Pastries

Glazed Pastries

A recipe for glazed pastries that are sweet and delicious:

Ingredients:

For the pastry:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven according to the puff pastry package instructions.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to create a rectangle shape.
  3. Cut the pastry sheet into smaller rectangles or squares, depending on the size of pastries you desire. You can use a knife or a pizza cutter for this.
  4. Place the cut pastry pieces onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Brush the pastries with the beaten egg, which will give them a nice golden color when baked.
  6. Bake the pastries in the preheated oven according to the puff pastry package instructions, usually around 15-20 minutes or until they are puffed up and golden brown.
  7. While the pastries are baking, prepare the glaze. In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until you have a smooth and pourable glaze. Adjust the amount of milk as needed to achieve your desired consistency.
  8. Once the pastries are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes.
  9. While the pastries are still warm, drizzle the glaze over them using a spoon or a piping bag.
  10. Allow the glaze to set and the pastries to cool completely before serving.

You can also add additional toppings to your glazed pastries, such as sprinkles, chopped nuts, or grated chocolate, for extra flavor and decoration. Enjoy these sweet and glazed treats!
