Cheeseburger sliders

INGREDIENTS

  • Olive oil
  • 1/2 onion
  • 950g of lean ground beef
  • Salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Pepper
  • 60g (1/4 cup) of mayonnaise
  • 24 dinner rolls
  • 130g + 150g of cheddar cheese
  • Butter (melted)
  • Sesame seeds

METHOD

1. Pour the olive oil into a big large skillet and add diced onion, then ground beef and break up. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

2. Sautee over medium/high heat, breaking up the beef and cook just until cooked through then remove from heat. Transfer to the bowl.

3. Add the mayonnaise to the bowl with prepared beef and mix to combine well.

4. Cut buns in half. Place the bottom half of the dinner rolls on a buttered cutting board and line the bread with sliced cheese.

5. Spread the ground beef mixture evenly over the sliced cheese to square off the edges. Cover the ground beef with shredded cheddar.

6. Place the top of the buns, cut-side down, over the burgers. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

7. Bake at 180°C/360°F for 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
