Amazing Passion Fruit Mille Feuille

Passion fruit mille-feuille is a delicious and visually stunning dessert that combines layers of flaky pastry, creamy filling, and tangy passion fruit.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4-5 passion fruits, pulp scooped out
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch (3 mm). Trim the edges to create a neat rectangle. Place the pastry sheet on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Using a fork, prick the pastry sheet all over to prevent it from puffing up too much during baking.
  4. Bake the pastry sheet in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until it turns golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on it to avoid overbaking. Once done, remove it from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  5. While the pastry is cooling, prepare the filling. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  6. Cut the cooled pastry sheet into three equal rectangular pieces.
  7. Place one layer of pastry on a serving plate and spread a generous amount of whipped cream on top, smoothing it out with a spatula.
  8. Drizzle some passion fruit pulp over the cream layer, spreading it evenly.
  9. Repeat the process with the remaining pastry layers, alternating between the whipped cream and passion fruit pulp until you reach the final layer.
  10. Dust the top layer with powdered sugar for an elegant finish.
  11. Chill the mille-feuille in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the pastry to soften slightly.
  12. When ready to serve, use a sharp knife to slice the mille-feuille into individual portions.
  13. Garnish each piece with additional passion fruit pulp, if desired, and serve immediately.
