Orange Cheesecake

Orange cheesecake is a delicious variation of traditional cheesecake that incorporates the refreshing and citrusy flavor of oranges. It typically features a creamy and smooth cheesecake filling infused with orange zest or orange juice, and sometimes a combination of both.
Ingredients:
For the crust:
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
For the filling:
- 24 ounces (3 packages) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 tablespoons orange zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the topping (optional):
- Whipped cream
- Orange slices or zest for garnish
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar for the crust. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.
- Press the crust mixture into the bottom of a greased 9-inch springform pan, making sure it is evenly distributed.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add the granulated sugar, flour, eggs, sour cream, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Beat until all the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the filling over the crust in the springform pan. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to smooth the top.
- Place the cheesecake in the preheated oven and bake for about 55-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly but not soupy.
- Once baked, remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature. Then, refrigerate it for at least 4 hours or overnight to set and chill.
- Before serving, you can add a dollop of whipped cream on top of the cheesecake and garnish with orange slices or zest for an extra citrus touch.
Slice and serve the orange cheesecake chilled, and enjoy the creamy, tangy, and citrusy flavors. It's a delightful dessert option, especially for orange lovers.
