Greek Frappe

Greek Frappe

Greek Frappé is a popular iced coffee drink enjoyed in Greece, especially during the summer months. It is made with instant coffee, water, sugar, and milk, and has a frothy texture. Here's a recipe to help you make a Greek Frappé:

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee (such as Nescafé)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar (adjust to your preferred sweetness)
  • Cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Milk (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a tall glass, add the instant coffee and sugar.
  2. Pour a small amount of cold water into the glass, just enough to wet the coffee and sugar.
  3. Using a handheld milk frother or a frappé mixer (specifically designed for making Greek Frappé), vigorously mix the coffee, sugar, and water together. Move the frother or mixer up and down while rotating it, creating a frothy texture. Continue mixing for about 20-30 seconds until the mixture becomes thick and creamy.
  4. Fill the glass with ice cubes, leaving some space at the top.
  5. Slowly pour cold water into the glass, leaving about an inch of space at the top. Stir gently to combine the coffee mixture with the water.
  6. If desired, you can add milk to your frappé. Add a small amount of milk and stir to incorporate.
  7. Taste the frappé and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar if needed. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.
  8. Serve the Greek Frappé immediately with a straw or a long spoon for stirring. Enjoy the refreshing and frothy iced coffee!

Note: Greek Frappé is often served without milk, but you can customize it according to your preference. You can also experiment with different variations by adding flavored syrups or whipped cream on top for extra indulgence.
