Chilli Garlic Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces (225 grams) pasta (spaghetti or any other variety)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4-5 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes (adjust according to your spice preference)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
  • Fresh parsley or basil leaves, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the hot oil and sauté for 1-2 minutes until it turns fragrant and lightly golden, but be careful not to burn it.
  4. Add the red chili flakes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the pan. Stir well to combine and let the flavors infuse into the oil for about 1 minute.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the pan and toss it in the chili garlic oil until the pasta is evenly coated.
  6. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, to heat the pasta through.
  7. Remove from heat and taste the pasta. Adjust the seasoning if needed.
