Strawberry Sunflower


  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • 200g (⅔ cup) of strawberry jam
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 60ml (¼ cup) of milk


1. Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F.

2. Roll out both sheets of puff pastry slightly and cut each sheet into a circle.

3. Spread strawberry jam on top of one sheet of the puff pastry and cover it with another sheet.

4. Make a small circle indent in the center and then make slits moving from the center area to the sides, forming ‘petals’.

5. Twist each ‘petal’ carefully and brush the strawberry ‘flower’ with some egg wash (egg yolk whisked with milk).

6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until puffy and golden. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
