Dhaka Fish Fry

Dhaka Fish Fry

Dhaka Fish Fry is a delicious Bangladeshi dish. Here's a recipe to make it at home:

Ingredients:

  • 4 pieces of fish fillets (such as tilapia or catfish)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt to make a marinade.
  2. Make a few shallow cuts on the fish fillets. This helps the marinade penetrate and flavors the fish better.
  3. Coat the fish fillets with the marinade, making sure they are well-covered. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or you can refrigerate them for a few hours for even better flavor.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the marinated fish fillets in the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove the fried fish from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve the Dhaka Fish Fry hot, garnished with lemon wedges. It pairs well with rice, naan, or as an appetizer.
