Baked Brie Cheese

Baked Brie Cheese

Baked Brie is best enjoyed when it's warm and the cheese is gooey. It makes for a delightful appetizer at parties or gatherings

Ingredients:

  • 1 round of Brie cheese (about 8-12 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup apricot preserves, honey, or your preferred jam
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds, pecans, or walnuts)
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Sliced baguette or crackers (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Remove any excess packaging from the Brie, but you can leave the rind on.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to make it slightly larger.
  4. Place the Brie round in the center of the puff pastry.
  5. Spread the apricot preserves or your chosen jam over the top of the Brie.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the jam.
  7. Carefully fold the puff pastry over the Brie, enclosing it completely. Seal the edges by pinching them together.
  8. Place the wrapped Brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Brush the puff pastry with the beaten egg, which will give it a nice golden color when baked.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the cheese is soft and gooey.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  12. Serve the baked Brie with sliced baguette or crackers for dipping.
