Honey BBQ Chicken

This honey bbq chicken is sure to be a hit at your next barbecue! There is something about making your own sauce that makes your food taste so much better!

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together barbecue sauce, honey, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a bit of oil if needed.
  5. Sear the chicken breasts on both sides until golden brown.
  6. Place the seared chicken breasts in a baking dish.
  7. Pour the honey BBQ sauce over the chicken, making sure to coat each piece evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through, with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  9. Baste the chicken with the sauce a couple of times during baking.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, then serve the honey BBQ chicken with your favorite side dishes.
