Avocado Toast
Avocado Toast is a delicious, high protein, high fiber, healthy breakfast. It is a savory breakfast that will keep your energy up until lunch! Including 3 ways to make it.
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 slices of your favorite bread (sourdough, whole grain, etc.)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: poached or fried egg, red pepper flakes, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, or a drizzle of balsamic glaze
Instructions:
- Toast the Bread:
- Toast the slices of bread to your desired level of crispiness.
- Prepare the Avocado:
- Cut the ripe avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
- Mash the Avocado:
- Mash the avocado with a fork until you achieve your preferred level of creaminess. You can leave it slightly chunky or make it smoother.
- Season:
- Add salt and pepper to taste. You can also customize with a dash of lemon juice or other seasonings if you like.
- Spread on Toast:
- Spread the mashed avocado evenly over the toasted bread.
