Sweet Cornbread

It’s buttery, it’s light, and it’s the perfect Thanksgiving side! Nicole shows you how to make a golden sweet cornbread for the upcoming holidays.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup honey

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking pan or a similar-sized skillet.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and honey until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; it's okay if there are a few lumps.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan or skillet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Allow the cornbread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before slicing.
