Pecan Crusted Salmon

A brown sugar and pecan crust gives this Pecan Crusted Salmon a sweet and savory crust while the fish is tender and flakey. It is a delicious way to prepare baked salmon!

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine chopped pecans, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, maple syrup, and olive oil.
  4. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  5. Brush each salmon fillet with the Dijon mustard mixture, ensuring it's evenly coated.
  6. Press the mustard-coated side of each salmon fillet into the pecan mixture, ensuring a thick and even crust.
  7. Place the pecan-crusted salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and the pecan crust is golden brown.
  9. Optional: Broil for an additional 1-2 minutes to get a crispier crust.
  10. Serve the pecan-crusted salmon with lemon wedges.
