When you need a decadent chocolate fix, try this homemade brownie recipe! They’re fudgy and chewy in the middle, with bits of melty chocolate in every bite — and they have addictively crisp edges.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Add sugar and stir until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips or chunks for an extra chocolatey touch.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares.
