Marble Banana Bread
This marble banana bread bakes up moist and tender and is topped with chocolate chip streusel and a chocolate ganache drizzle.
Ingredients:
For the Banana Bread Batter:
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Chocolate Marble Swirl:
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- Prepare Chocolate Marble Swirl:
- In a small bowl, mix together cocoa powder, hot water, and sugar until well combined. Set aside.
- Prepare Banana Bread Batter:
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
- Add melted butter, vanilla extract, sugar, and the egg. Mix until well combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Incorporate Dry Ingredients:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Marble Swirl:
- Take about 1 cup of the banana bread batter and mix it with the prepared chocolate marble mixture.
- Layer the Batter:
- Spoon the regular banana bread batter and the chocolate-marbled batter alternately into the prepared loaf pan.
- Create Swirls:
- Use a knife or skewer to create swirls by gently running it through the batter in a zigzag pattern.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool and Serve:
- Allow the Marble Banana Bread to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
