Moist Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Add Wet Ingredients:

  • Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined. The batter will be thick.

4. Incorporate Boiling Water:

  • Gradually add the boiling water to the batter, mixing well. The batter will become thin, but that's okay.

5. Bake:

  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6. Cool:

  • Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

7. Frost or Serve as Desired:

  • Once the cakes are completely cooled, you can frost them with your favorite frosting, dust them with powdered sugar, or serve them as is.
