Eggnog French Toast
This Eggnog French Toast with Gingerbread Syrup is my new favorite Christmas breakfast. Get a taste of Christmas in every gooey, delicious bite!
Ingredients:
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup eggnog
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 8 slices of bread (Challah or Brioche work well)
- Butter for cooking
- Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, whipped cream, or nutmeg for garnish
Instructions:
- Preheat Griddle or Pan:
- Preheat a griddle or non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
- Prepare the Eggnog Mixture:
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, eggnog, vanilla extract, ground nutmeg, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- Dip the Bread:
- Dip each slice of bread into the eggnog mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
- Cook on Griddle or Pan:
- Add butter to the preheated griddle or pan. Place the dipped bread slices on the cooking surface.
- Cook Until Golden Brown:
- Cook each side until golden brown and slightly crispy, typically 2-3 minutes per side.
- Serve Warm:
- Once cooked, transfer the Eggnog French Toast to a serving plate.
- Garnish:
- Garnish with your choice of toppings such as maple syrup, powdered sugar, whipped cream, or a sprinkle of nutmeg.
- Serve Immediately:
- Serve the Eggnog French Toast warm and enjoy!
