BBQ Cajun Chicken Tacos
Feel free to customize the toppings based on your preferences, such as adding sour cream, avocado slices, or hot sauce.
Ingredients:
For Cajun Chicken:
- 1 lb (about 450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For BBQ Sauce:
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
For Tacos:
- 8 small flour or corn tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions:
- In a bowl, toss the chicken strips with Cajun seasoning until evenly coated.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Cajun-seasoned chicken strips and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, mix together barbecue sauce, honey, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat over low heat until warmed through.
- Pour the BBQ sauce over the cooked Cajun chicken in the skillet. Stir to coat the chicken evenly in the sauce. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Warm the tortillas according to package instructions.
- Assemble the tacos by placing Cajun BBQ chicken on each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and red onions.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
