Veg Chowmein at home

Important tip for making Chowmein at home!

Ingredients:

  • 200g chowmein noodles
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, bell peppers, cabbage, and snow peas), julienned
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the chowmein noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a wok or large pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for a minute until fragrant.
  4. Add sliced onions and cook until they become translucent.
  5. Add julienned mixed vegetables to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, keeping the vegetables crisp.
  6. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, chili sauce, vinegar, and sugar.
  7. Pour the sauce mixture over the vegetables and toss everything together.
  8. Add the cooked chowmein noodles to the pan. Toss the noodles with the vegetables and sauce until well combined.
  9. Adjust salt and spice levels according to your taste.
  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves if desired.
