Pear and Chocolate Cake
Pear and chocolate cake: soft and delicious!
INGREDIENTS
- 90g (β cup) of butter, softened
- 250g (2 cups) of all-purpose flour
- 250g (1 ΒΌ cups) of sugar
- 8g of baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 210ml (4/5 cup + 1 tbsp) of milk
- 5ml (1 tsp) of vanilla extract
- 2 pears
- 10g (1 tbsp) of cornstarch
- 120g (1 cup) of dark chocolate, chopped
METHOD
1. Preheat the oven to 180Β°C/350Β°F. Cover the cake pan with parchment.
2. WHisk flour with baking powder and add cold butter. Using your fingers work the flour with the butter until fine crumbs form.
3. Whisk eggs with sugar, milk and vanilla. Pour liquids into the flour and butter crumbs. Mix until smooth batter forms.
4. Chop one cored pear and add into into the batter. Pour the batter into a prepared pan. Top the cake with pieces of chocolate and sliced pear.
5. Bake for 45 minutes. Let cool down before sprinkling shredded chocolate on top.
