DOUBLE DAL TADKA - What's better than Dal Tadka? Double Dal Tadka. Do try this recipe, vo bhi, no onion or Garlic!

Ingredients

For Washing Dal

  • 1 ┬╜ cups Toor dal, рддреВрд░ рджрд╛рд▓
  • ┬╜ cup Yellow Moong dal, рдореВрдВрдЧ рдХреА рджрд╛рд▓
  • Water, рдкрд╛рдиреА

For Cooking Dal

  • 1 tbsp Ghee, рдШреА
  • ┬╜ tsp Cumin seeds, рдЬреАрд░рд╛
  • Washed Dal, рдзреБрд▓реА рд╣реБрдИ рджрд╛рд▓
  • ┬╜ inch Ginger (peeled & finely chopped) рдЕрджрд░рдХ
  • 2 no. Green chillies, chopped, рд╣рд░реА рдорд┐рд░реНрдЪ
  • Salt to taste, рдирдордХ рд╕реНрд╡рд╛рджрдЕрдиреБрд╕рд╛рд░
  • 5-6 cups Water, рдкрд╛рдиреА
  • 1 tbsp Tender Coriander stem, finely chopped, рдзрдирд┐рдпреЗ рдХреЗ рдбрдВрдард▓
  • ┬╜ tsp Turmeric powder, рд╣рд▓реНрджреА рдкрд╛рдЙрдбрд░
  • ┬╜ tsp Degi red chili powder, рджреЗрдЧреА рд▓рд╛рд▓ рдорд┐рд░реНрдЪ рдкрд╛рдЙрдбрд░
  • ┬╝ tsp Coriander powder, рдзрдирд┐рдпрд╛ рдкрд╛рдЙрдбрд░
  • Warm Water, рдкрд╛рдиреА
  • Salt to taste, рдирдордХ рд╕реНрд╡рд╛рджрдЕрдиреБрд╕рд╛рд░

For Jeera Rice

  • 2 tsp Oil, рддреЗрд▓
  • ┬╜ tsp Cumin seeds, рдЬреАрд░рд╛
  • 1 no. Green chili (less spicy & chopped) рд╣рд░реА рдорд┐рд░реНрдЪ
  • ┬╜ tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped, рдзрдирд┐рдпрд╛ рдкрддреНрддрд╛
  • Cooked Rice, рдкрдХреЗ рд╣реБрдП рдЪрд╛рд╡рд▓
  • 1 tbsp Butter, cubed, рдордХреНрдЦрди

For Double Dal Tadka

  • 1 tbsp Oil, рддреЗрд▓
  • 1 tbsp Ghee, рдШреА
  • 2-3 Bedgi red chili, рдмреЗрдбрдЧреА рд▓рд╛рд▓ рдорд┐рд░реНрдЪ
  • A pinch of asafoetida, рд╣реАрдВрдЧ
  • ┬╜ inch Ginger (peeled & finely chopped) рдЕрджрд░рдХ
  • 1 no. Green chili, chopped рд╣рд░реА рдорд┐рд░реНрдЪ
  • ┬╜ tsp Degi red chili powder, рджреЗрдЧреА рд▓рд╛рд▓ рдорд┐рд░реНрдЪ рдкрд╛рдЙрдбрд░

For Garnish

  • Coriander sprig, рдзрдирд┐рдпрд╛ рдкрддреНрддрд╛

Process

For Washing Dal

  1. In a bowl, add toor dal, yellow moong dal, water and rinse it well.
  2. Keep it aside for further use.

For Cooking Dal

  1. In a pressure cooker, add ghee, once it's hot, add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
  2. Add wash dal, ginger, green chillies, salt to taste, water, tender coriander stems, turmeric powder, degi red chili powder, coriander powder and mix it well.
  3. Cover it with the lid and cook for 3-4 whistles until mushy on medium to high flames.
  4. Add water, salt to taste and stir well and give it a quick boil.
  5. Transfer it into the serving bowl, pour the tadka on it and garnish it with coriander sprig.
  6. Serve hot.

For Jeera Rice

  1. In a pan, add oil, once it's hot, add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
  2. Add green chillies, coriander leaves, cooked rice, butter and toss it well on medium flames.
  3. Transfer it to a serving bowl with prepared dal and garnish it with coriander sprig.
  4. Serve hot.

For Double Dal Tadka

  1. In a pan, add oil, ghee, once it's hot, add bedgi red chili, a pinch of asafoetida and saute it well.
  2. Add ginger, green chili, degi red chili powder and mix it well.
  3. Turn off the flame and keep it aside for further use
