Cheesy Macaroni Ground Beef and Shrimp Casserole

New Orleans native Charlie Andrews demonstrates how to make Cheesy Macaroni Ground Beef and shrimp casserole. It's similar to American Goulash but it's converted into a filling, added into a baking pan and baked in an oven. This recipe you can get 12 to 15 servings. It's a filling comfort food dish. Absolutely delicious. Hope you all will give this recipe a try.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and cook the shrimp until pink. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to create a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk until the mixture thickens. Add cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  5. Combine cooked macaroni, ground beef, and shrimp in a large mixing bowl. Pour the cheese sauce over and mix well.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
