Pasta Bolognese

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (approx. 700 kcal)
  • 1/2 lb ground pork (approx. 450 kcal)
  • 1/2 lb ground veal (approx. 500 kcal)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • 1 lb pasta (of your choice)

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: In a large pot, heat olive oil and sauté onions, carrots, and celery until softened.

Step 2: Add garlic and cook for another minute. Incorporate the ground meats, breaking them apart and browning evenly.

Step 3: Pour in the red wine and let it simmer until mostly evaporated.

Step 4: Stir in crushed tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Simmer on low heat for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Step 5: Add milk to the sauce, stirring well. Simmer for an additional 30 minutes.

Step 6: Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain.

Step 7: Serve the Bolognese sauce over the cooked pasta. Optionally, garnish with grated Parmesan cheese.
