Best Chutney for Idli, Dosa - Pottukadalai Chutney

Ingredients:
- 1 cup roasted gram dal (pottukadalai) (356 kcal)
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 2-3 dried red chilies
- A small piece of tamarind (size of a marble)
- Salt to taste
- Water, as needed
Cooking Steps:
Step 1: Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add urad dal and dried red chilies. Sauté until dal turns golden brown.
Step 2: Add roasted gram dal (pottukadalai) to the pan. Continue to sauté until it releases a pleasant aroma and turns slightly golden.
Step 3: Include tamarind and salt. Mix well and turn off the heat. Let the mixture cool.
Step 4: Transfer the cooled ingredients to a blender. Add water as needed and blend to a smooth consistency.
Step 5: Adjust salt if necessary. Your Pottukadalai Chutney is ready to be served with hot and fluffy Idlis or crispy Dosas. Enjoy the burst of flavors in every bite!
