One Egg Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (455 kcal)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (774 kcal)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (98 kcal)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg (72 kcal)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (61 kcal)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (488 kcal)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup boiling water

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.

Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 3: Add the egg, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

Step 4: Gradually add the boiling water to the batter, stirring continuously. The batter will be thin, but that's okay.

Step 5: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 6: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 7: Once cooled, you can dust the cake with powdered sugar or frost it with your favorite icing. Slice and enjoy the rich, moist goodness of the One Egg Chocolate Cake.
