Roasted Parmesan Brussels Sprouts

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, red pepper flakes
  • Fresh lemon wedges for serving

Steps:

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  2. Season: Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and any optional seasonings like garlic powder or red pepper flakes. Toss again to distribute the seasonings.
  3. Roast: Spread the sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy on the edges.
  4. Add Parmesan: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan evenly over the roasted Brussels sprouts during the last 5 minutes of cooking. Return to the oven until the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
  5. Serve: Transfer the Brussels sprouts to a serving dish, squeeze fresh lemon juice over them, and serve hot. The combination of crispy sprouts and melted Parmesan creates a mouthwatering experience.
