Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (around 800 kcal)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (around 1624 kcal)
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar (around 1200 kcal)
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature (around 100 kcal)

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans.

Step 2: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 4: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.

Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Step 6: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.

Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
