Red Thai Curry Sauce

Red Thai Curry Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons red curry paste
  • 1 can (14 oz) coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 kaffir lime leaves (optional)
  • Fresh Thai basil leaves for garnish

Steps:

  1. Sauté Curry Paste: In a pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add red curry paste and sauté for a minute until fragrant.
  2. Add Coconut Milk: Pour in the coconut milk, stirring well to combine with the curry paste. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  3. Season: Add soy sauce and brown sugar, adjusting to taste. If using kaffir lime leaves, tear them and add for an extra layer of citrusy aroma.
  4. Simmer and Blend Flavors: Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. Garnish: Before serving, remove kaffir lime leaves if used. Garnish with fresh Thai basil leaves for a burst of herbal aroma and flavor.
  6. Serve: The Red Thai Curry Sauce is now ready to elevate your favorite Thai dishes. Pour over noodles, accompany with rice, or use as a base for stir-fries. Enjoy the authentic taste of Thai cuisine!
