Earl Grey and Apple Cake
Ingredients:
- Earl Grey tea bags (2)
- Boiling water (1 cup)
- Unsalted butter, softened (1 cup, 1,600 kcal)
- Granulated sugar (1 1/2 cups, 1,200 kcal)
- Eggs (4)
- All-purpose flour (3 cups, 1,200 kcal)
- Baking powder (2 tsp)
- Salt (1/2 tsp)
- Apples, peeled and diced (2 cups, 200 kcal)
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Preparation Steps:
Step 1: Steep Earl Grey tea bags in boiling water and let it cool to room temperature.
Step 2: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
Step 3: Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 4: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Step 5: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 6: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the cooled Earl Grey tea.
Step 7: Fold in diced apples until evenly distributed in the batter.
Step 8: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
Step 9: Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
