Ingredients:

  1. Tofu Mixture:
    • Extra-firm tofu, crumbled - 2 cups
    • Garlic, minced - 3 cloves
    • Ginger, grated - 1 tablespoon
    • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
    • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon

  2. Rice Bed:
    • Jasmine rice, cooked - 2 cups
    • Banana leaves (for wrapping)

Steps:

Step 1: Prepare Tofu Mixture

  • In a bowl, combine crumbled extra-firm tofu, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix until well incorporated.

Step 2: Cook Jasmine Rice

  • Cook jasmine rice according to package instructions. Fluff the rice and let it cool slightly.

Step 3: Assemble the Pastil

  • Take a portion of banana leaf, place a layer of cooked jasmine rice, and top it with the prepared tofu mixture.

Step 4: Fold and Steam

  • Fold the banana leaf, creating a neat package. Secure with toothpicks if needed. Steam the Pastil for about 15-20 minutes.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!
