Ingredients:

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: Press Tofu

  1. Wrap the tofu block in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object (like a cast-iron skillet) on top to press out excess water. Press for at least 15-20 minutes.

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, maple syrup or agave nectar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.

Step 3: Marinate Tofu

  1. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  2. Place the tofu cubes in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag.
  3. Pour the marinade over the tofu, ensuring that each piece is well-coated.
  4. Marinate the tofu for at least 30 minutes, or longer for a more intense flavor. You can refrigerate it if marinating for an extended time.

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the marinated tofu cubes to the skillet, reserving the marinade.

  4. Pour the reserved marinade over the cooking tofu, allowing it to coat the cubes evenly.
  5. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and caramelizes.
