Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1/2 cup finely chopped scallions
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water
- Tare Sauce:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp grated ginger
Cooking Steps:
- In a bowl, mix ground chicken, chopped scallions, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Wet hands and shape the mixture into small, oval meatballs.
- Thread meatballs onto skewers.
- In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and grated ginger to create the tare sauce. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Grill Tsukune skewers over medium heat, turning and basting with tare sauce until fully cooked.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional scallions if desired.
