Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup short-grain rice
  2. 1/2 cup red azuki beans
  3. 6 cups water
  4. Pinch of salt
  5. Sweetener of choice (sugar, honey, or sweetened condensed milk)
  6. Optional toppings: toasted sesame seeds or chopped green onions

Cooking Steps:

  1. Rinse rice and azuki beans under cold water.
  2. In a pot, combine rice, azuki beans, and water. Bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until rice and beans are soft and the mixture thickens.
  4. Stir occasionally and add water if needed to reach the desired consistency.
  5. Add a pinch of salt and sweeten to taste.
  6. Serve hot, topped with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.
