Easy Delicious Beef Teriyaki Noodles With Homemade Teriyaki Sauce
Ingredients:
For the Teriyaki Sauce:
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 1/4 cup sake (or white wine)
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water to make a slurry)
For the Beef and Noodles:
- 8 oz (about 225g) flank steak, thinly sliced
- 8 oz (about 225g) ramen or udon noodles
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Optional: Red pepper flakes for heat
Cooking Steps:
Step 1: Prepare Teriyaki Sauce
- In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake (or white wine), brown sugar, grated ginger, and minced garlic.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
- Once simmering, add the cornstarch slurry and continue stirring until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
Step 2: Cook Noodles
- Cook the ramen or udon noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 3: Sear Beef
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Add the thinly sliced flank steak and sear until browned on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 4: Stir-Fry Vegetables
- In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- Add broccoli florets and sliced bell pepper. Stir-fry for a few minutes until vegetables are slightly tender but still vibrant.
Step 5: Combine Beef, Noodles, and Sauce
- Add the seared beef back to the pan with the vegetables.
- Pour the prepared teriyaki sauce over the beef and vegetables.
- Add the cooked noodles to the pan.
- Toss everything together until well coated in the teriyaki sauce and heated through.
Step 6: Garnish and Serve
- Garnish the Beef Teriyaki Noodles with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
- Optionally, add red pepper flakes for extra heat.
