Til Ke Laddu
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sesame seeds (til)
- 1 cup jaggery, grated
- 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- Chopped nuts (optional, for garnish)
Steps:
- Heat a pan over medium heat and dry roast the sesame seeds until they become golden brown and release a nutty aroma. Ensure not to burn them. Set aside to cool.
- In the same pan, add ghee and grated jaggery. Stir continuously over low heat until the jaggery melts and forms a syrup. Cook for a few more minutes until the syrup thickens slightly.
- Add the roasted sesame seeds and cardamom powder to the jaggery syrup. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
- Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool slightly, so it's comfortable to handle.
- Grease your palms with a little ghee to prevent sticking, then take small portions of the mixture and shape them into laddus (round balls).
- Optionally, garnish the laddus with chopped nuts like almonds or cashews.
- Allow the Til Ke Laddu to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.
Enjoy these Til Ke Laddus as a traditional and nutritious sweet during festive occasions or as a delightful snack to satisfy your sweet cravings.
