Green Onion Crackers

Green Onion Crackers

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour (optional for a nuttier flavor)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 cup cold water

Steps:

Step 1: In a food processor, combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, chopped green onions, cold diced butter, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder (if using). Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 2: Add cold water gradually, pulsing the food processor, until the dough starts to come together. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 3: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead briefly until it forms a cohesive ball.

Step 4: Roll out the dough into a thin sheet (about 1/8 inch thick).

Step 5: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 6: Cut the rolled-out dough into desired shapes using a cookie cutter or a knife.

Step 7: Place the cut crackers on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the crackers are golden brown and crispy.

Step 9: Allow the crackers to cool completely before serving.
